Celebrating Constitution Week

This year, I was honored to introduce SR 30, a resolution recognizing September 17-23, 2025, as Constitution Week here in California.

Constitution Week was first established in 1956 by the Daughters of the American Revolution to celebrate one of the most important documents in our nation’s history. On September 17, 2025, we’ll mark 238 years since the Constitution was signed at the Constitutional Convention in 1787.

The Constitution is more than just a historic document, it’s the foundation of our government and the safeguard of the rights and freedoms we enjoy as Americans.

As we celebrate this week, I encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on its importance. Read the Constitution, talk with your children about why it matters, and remember those who have fought to protect the freedoms it guarantees.

For me, taking an oath to uphold the Constitution is a responsibility I take to heart every single day. I invite you to join me, other elected officials, communities, and citizens across this country as we celebrate and honor Constitution Week.
