SACRAMENTO, CA — Senator Kelly Seyarto (R-Murrieta) was recently named the 2026 State Elected Official of the Year by the Riverside Sheriffs' Association in recognition of his longstanding commitment to public safety and support for law enforcement professionals.
A retired firefighter and Vice Chair of the Senate Public Safety Committee, Senator Seyarto has consistently championed policies that support law enforcement, strengthen public safety, and protect California communities. Throughout his legislative career, he has advocated for commonsense public safety measures that prioritize accountability, support victims, and ensure first responders have the tools and resources they need to serve and protect the public.
"I am truly honored to receive this recognition from the Riverside Sheriffs' Association," said Senator Seyarto. "The men and women who serve in law enforcement put themselves in harm's way every day to keep our communities safe, often making tremendous sacrifices on behalf of others. They deserve leaders who will stand with them, support them, and ensure they have the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively."
The Riverside Sheriffs' Association represents the dedicated men and women of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and is committed to promoting public safety, supporting deputies, investigators, correctional personnel, and other public safety professionals, and strengthening partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they protect.
"Public safety is not a partisan issue,” said Senator Seyarto. “Every Californian deserves to feel safe in their home and community, and I will continue working with our law enforcement partners to support policies that protect both the public and those who serve."
