VICTORY! I am pleased to inform you that SB 14, by Senator Grove, which I am a co-author on, has just been signed into law.
This bill reclassifies sex trafficking of a minor as a serious felony, a strike offense under California law. It is the first expansion of the list of crimes deemed serious under the Three Strikes law in over a decade.
This will protect future generations by stopping repeat offenders from continuing to commit this horrific crime.
SB 14 is a part of a Republican-led effort to protect our children and take action against criminals. We have been supported by our constituents every step of the way, and my fellow legislators and I THANK YOU for your support of this new landmark law.
