California Could Be Holding Your Money

The state could be holding some of your money!

The California State Controller’s Office is currently holding more than $15 billion in unclaimed property, often referred to as “California’s financial lost and found.”

California law requires banks, insurance companies, corporations, and other entities to submit property to the state when there has been no activity for a period of time, typically three years.

While the state works to return these funds, California does not automatically send money back in most cases, meaning you must search and file a claim to receive what is rightfully yours.

Common types of unclaimed property include bank accounts, stocks, bonds, uncashed checks, insurance benefits, wages, inheritances, and safe deposit box contents.

To find out if the state has anything belonging to you, please visit the official California State Controller’s website at claimit.ca.gov

Should you need further assistance, you may contact the State Controller’s Unclaimed Property Division at: (916) 323-2827.

It is easy and free of charge to file a claim and get your rightful property back!

Thank you for this opportunity to be of service.
