Senator Seyarto Honored as 2026 Legislator of the Year by Crime Victims United

I wanted to share that yesterday I was honored to be recognized by Crime Victims United as a 2026 Legislator of the Year for “exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to victims of crime.”

This recognition is especially meaningful because Crime Victims United has spent more than 40 years advocating for victims of crime and their families and helping ensure survivors are supported, informed, and treated with dignity throughout the justice process.

As a retired firefighter and Vice Chair of the Senate Public Safety Committee, I have always believed that protecting our communities and supporting victims and survivors must remain a priority. Earlier this year, I introduced SCR 144 to recognize Crime Victims’ Rights Week in California.

Supporting victims’ rights is not just about justice, it is about restoring a sense of dignity and stability to those who have experienced trauma. We must continue working to ensure survivors and families never feel forgotten.

I am grateful for this recognition and thankful for the opportunity to continue serving the people of our 32nd District and communities across California.
